Dr. Brenna Jeffries, O.D.
Dr. Brenna Jeffries joined McMillin Eyecare in September 2024, bringing her expertise and passion for eye care to the tri-cities community. Originally from Ohio, Dr. Jeffries earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Wright State University in 2019 before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, graduating in 2023. She further honed her skills during an Ocular Disease residency at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV, completing it in 2024.
Dr. Jeffries’ journey into optometry began at a young age after being diagnosed with a lazy eye at the age of six, requiring frequent visits to the optometrist. These early experiences ignited her passion for the field and shaped her career path. Her favorite aspect of being an optometrist is helping patients of all ages achieve their best vision, enabling them to reach their goals and enjoy life to the fullest.
During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Jeffries participated in medical mission trips to Honduras, where she assisted in the vision clinics by helping patients select reading glasses. Witnessing the joy on patients’ faces as they regained the ability to read solidified her commitment to optometry and deepened her passion for providing care to those in need.
Professionally, Dr. Jeffries has a special interest in managing ocular diseases, including glaucoma and macular degeneration. She is dedicated to early detection and treatment of these conditions to help patients preserve their vision and maintain their quality of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Jeffries enjoys traveling, cooking with her husband, and tackling escape rooms. She is also passionate about mission work, both locally and abroad, finding fulfillment in giving back to her community and beyond. Dr. Jeffries and her husband are excited to call the tri-cities area home as he furthers his education at Eastern Tennessee State University and she serves patients at McMillin Eyecare.
