Cancellation/No-Show Policy

McMillin Eyecare Appointment Policy

We hope this message finds you well! As our office continues to grow, we’ve unfortunately experienced an increase in no-show appointments. To better serve all our patients and respect everyone’s time, we’re updating our appointment policy.

Beginning 6/2/2025 we will be implementing a new no-show policy. This change is designed to help us better manage our schedule and reduce wait times for everyone.

At McMillin Eyecare, we now require at least 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to make your scheduled appointment. This allows us the opportunity to offer the time slot to another patient who may be waiting to be seen.

  • Patients who “no-show” or cancel their appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged a $50 fee.
  • Any patient who fails to show or cancel their appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice a second time will be charged a $75 fee.
  • Patients who need to reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice due to extenuating circumstances will be granted a courtesy waiver. Repeated use of this courtesy may result in its discontinuation.
  • A third occurrence may lead to dismissal from McMillin eyecare.
  • Late Arrivals: Patients arriving more than 15 minutes past their scheduled appointment time may need to be rescheduled to avoid disrupting care for other patients. A late cancellation fee of $50 may also apply.

New Patients: Any new patients who fail to show up for their initial appointment will not be rescheduled.

Please note: Missed appointment fees are the responsibility of the patient and are not covered by insurance. Statements are sent monthly, and all outstanding fees must be paid prior to scheduling any future appointments.

As a courtesy, we strive to provide multiple reminders of your upcoming appointment through our automated system via text and email. If you do not have access to either, you will receive a phone call. Please keep your contact information up to date to ensure you receive all reminders.
